FAQs
How do you create these images?
These images were created using dedicated generative AI (text-to-image) software. These images are 100% artificial.
are these ai images A perfect likeness of real people?
No. But allow me to elaborate.
Firstly, I had no interest in depicting any specific person in these images and, in fact, have intentionally avoided that ability. If any human portrayed in these images seem familiar it would likely be a vague facial feature, etc. and not an entire likeness. An appropriate analogy would be a food recipe with a blend of flavors and you detect a pinch of salt. Regardless, any similarities in these images of someone (living or dead), is at the very least, unintentional.
Secondly, all the files used to create this series of prints are in the public domain and available for free. They are rarely, if ever, accompanied by detailed information regarding the datasets used to create them. Datasets can theoretically be trained using as few as a dozen images or as many as a billion. Furthermore, various other file types were used in concert to fine-tune and contribute to specific physical attributes. In some cases, these files were used to subtly nudge the results in certain directions using weight parameters. In other instances, the files couldn’t be controlled much at all due to their specifically designed binary function.
So, lastly, is it within the realm of possibility that one of my images partly or vaguely resembles a real person? Yes. However, I intentionally directed the software away from any known likeness as much as I could.
are the prints framed?
No. These 8” H x 20” W prints are unframed but precut with a 2” white border (Final Print Size: 12” H x 24” W), ready for framing. You can find a cost-effective, well-made (black) frame here: ArtToFrames. Also, Frame Destination has more expensive options for 8”x20” prints.
Are the physical prints archival?
Yes. I use Epson Ultra Premium Luster (260) 240 gsm paper and the Canon Pro-4100 pigment printer.
”Premium Luster Photo Paper delivers highly saturated prints by offering maximum ink coverage and a high D-Max for true photographic reproductions. Its 10-mil RC base gives prints a photographic feel, and keeps the paper cockle-free.” – Epson
How are these physical prints shipped?
You have a choice of FedEx or UPS for the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. Shipped in a Kraft heavy duty shipping tube (3" x .125 x 36"), all shipping is insured and tracked.
All orders are shipped from Texas. Please allow 1-2 weeks for printing and shipping. With a few exceptions, delivery within 2-5 days (from shipping date) is typical depending on each state. These estimates can be viewed at checkout. You will also receive an email from me when your item has been shipped.
Your print will be handled with as much care as possible and will be shipped to you sleeved and protected.
Will you ship physical prints outside of the US?
Yes. However, International shipping costs are very expensive. DHL appears to be the cheapest and can still be very costly. So, if you are outside of North America or live in a US territory and know of a more cost effective international shipping method, please feel free to contact me and share your suggestion.
Can I request a signature be required upon delivery?
Yes. I will add all reasonable requests to the shipping order. Contact me.
